What is a parable?: a story, in prose or verse, which illustrates one or more instructive lessons or principles. A parable can also be considered as a type of analogy.

MATTHEW 24:14-39
Summary of the parable of the talents:

In the bible there were 3 servants entrusted with talents (money) from their master according to their abilities. One was given 5, another given 2 and the last give my 1. The one given 5 invested it and gained 5, the one given 2 invested it and received 2 and the one who received 1 was afraid to use his talent so he did not gain anything.

The lesson to learn from this story is that the more you give, the more you receive, the more you are trusted you are, the more pleasing you become, the more favourable you become. There is always gain when you give.
There should be joy when you receive  more responsibilities because it shows that you are trustworthy and reliable.

Many of us do not use our talents because of fear and fear makes us use excuses. If the other two were able to do it, then why should you be any different. God does not fall for flimsy and silly excuses, he does not pity us in any way shape or form because the talent has now gone to WASTE. If you do not use your talent, it can and will easily be taken away from you and given to someone who will be faithful and will use it efficiently.

It mentions in this parable at the end the one who did not use his talent was "useless", he did not do what was required of him with his talents. Many of us are holding back because of fear but the bible clearly mentions God has given us a spirit of love and POWER and a sound mind. Ask God for a sound, clear mind which will give you the courage to use your talents. Regardless of what it may be
: singing, playing an instrument, sports, art, makeup, dance don't let it go to waste.
